The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) Training Centre (WMO Beijing Regional Training Center, RTC-Beijing), a comprehensive, professional, high-level meteorological education and training institution, is a national base for high-level continuing education and on-the-job training in the meteorological sector. The CMA Training Centre (CMATC) was recognized by the World Meteorological Organization as the WMO Beijing Regional Training Center (RTC-Beijing) in 2003 and was awarded the WMO\/CGMS Virtual Laboratory of Excellence in 2007.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

CMATC undertakes important training tasks, including the rotational training of middle and senior management, middle and senior professionals and technicians in CMA, the promotion and application of high technology in meteorological operations and related fields, the training of trainers, meteorological operators and managers in Asia and other developing countries beyond as well as the provision of digital documentation and information consulting services for CMA and the community as a whole. At the same time, it undertakes other tasks, such as meteorological standardization research, meteorological science and technology results management and promotion and application.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

CMATC has brought together a group of experts and scholars with diverse and rich backgrounds, experience and expertise as a well-structured full-time and part-time teaching team of excellence. It currently has 219 employees, including 35 full senior engineers, 99 associate senior engineers, 59 doctors and 107 masters. Over the years, CMATC has given full play to the role of meteorological education and training as a platform for a podium for knowledge transfer, a foreground for results promotion, and a stage for experience exchange, while insisting that the training content be coupled with the higher education, with meteorological business needs, and with the cutting-edge science and technology.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

As a Regional Training Centre, holding international training courses is one of the most important tasks for CMATC. Since 2003, CMATC has held nearly 100 international training courses for a total of over 5142 international participants from 135 countries and regions. The participants, which were from all six WMO Regional Associations, were mostly from developing countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Oceania, with about 58% from Asia and 30% from Africa. CMATC always focus on WMO strategy and meteorological operational development. Based on the priority areas determined in the WMO strategic plan, the WMO competency frameworks and the WMO education and training policies, the training needs are analyzed and workshops designed in close alignment with the ongoing meteorological operations and services. CMATC also attaches great attention to the training quality control. CMATC conducts various training events based on a four-stage training management system of “needs analysis, project planning, organization and implementation, and summary and evaluation”. The various international training events organized by RTC-Beijing have been widely acclaimed by organizations including WMO, and international trainees.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The international Training Course on Satellite Meteorology is one of our most welcomed courses. The series of the courses are designed to enhance the trainees\u2019 knowledge and skills in the application of meteorological satellite data and products in supporting weather analysis, weather forecasting, environmental monitoring and disaster risk management. With close cooperation with National Satellite Meteorological Center (NSMC, also Sat Op in CMA), the courses on satellite meteorology are more relevant and helpful, and their operational meteorologists and professionals can also teach as instructors and have communication and exchanges with participants.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
